Smiths' Boathouse - Troy

We had a lovely evening at the Smith Boathouse. I ordered the beef tips, while my husband enjoyed the Walleye. His Walleye was bursting with flavor—absolutely delicious and highly recommended! The service was excellent as well. We also indulged in a delightful dessert to cap off our meal.

We had a delightful dining experience—everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. However, I was a bit let down by the portion size of my meal. Two others in our group ordered fish and chips, while I chose the Admiral Platter, which includes fish and chips along with white shrimp and sea scallops. While the flavor was fantastic, I felt that adding fish and chips to the platter for an extra $20 didn't quite justify the cost. Additionally, there was a $12 charge for a salad! I do plan to return in the future, but I won't be ordering the same dish again. From my picture, it looks like there were more fries than fish on my plate.

Such a great time every year we come here for our birthday and have never been disappointed! Abby was such a fun server to have, she cracked little jokes and was so understanding and just everything all around in line with what we wanted! Always fun! Thanks again for such a great environment!

The Clam Chowder is excellently crafted, flavorful, and has a great consistency. While you might find it average in Boston or Maine, it's the best chowder you'll find in the larger Dayton area. The steaks are cooked to perfection, so you can order them here with confidence. The restaurant has a boathouse vibe that could easily be mistaken for a farmhouse. As expected, the seafood is fresh and skillfully prepared. While some seafood dishes are straightforward, others involve complex cooking techniques that may be a bit too intricate for some tastes. Overall, this place will not disappoint. You'll either be blown away by your experience or simply pleased with it. Give it a try and see where you land; chances are, it will become a regular spot for you.

A small get together with co-workers was perfect! The staff was kind, the owner stopped to say hello, and good& drinks were delicious! We will be going back!
