Coffeebar Bakery - Truckee

After a day of snow shoeing a friend suggested we stop in at the CoffeeBar and Bakery at 12047 Donner Pass road in Truckee, near the entrance to hwy 80. As a long term vegan I thought there would be next to no chance of finding vegan pastries. I was confident I would be able to find plant based milk because they are now ubiquitous. I was thrilled to be offered the most delicious vegan pastries I have ever tasted. The coffee and service is also excellent. Everyone enjoyed both the coffee and pastries. I was the only vegan. There is a good selection of vegetarian pastries. Looking forward to stopping in after skiing next week. I subsequently discovered that my first ever vegan birthday cake had been catered here. That was delicious too. Glad to know they cater.

The vegan mini chocolate Bundt cake was a bit crumbly and had a flavor similar to a classic crazy cake recipe. The pumpkin donut holes do contain eggs but no dairy. They were delightful, even on the second day.

As a long-time vegan, I initially thought I wouldn't find any vegan pastries. However, I was confident that plant-based milk would be available, as it has become quite common. To my delight, I discovered the most delicious vegan pastries I’ve ever tasted! The coffee and service were also outstanding. Everyone enjoyed both the coffee and pastries, and I was the only vegan in the group. There was a nice selection of vegetarian pastries as well. We're looking forward to stopping by again next week after skiing. I was also excited to learn that my first vegan birthday cake was made here, and it was delicious too. It's great to know this place exists!
