After being seated, we waited another 20 minutes without being acknowledged by any staff. Our assigned server passed by us multiple times while attending to other tables nearby, completely neglecting to greet us or inform us that they would be with us shortly. When we were finally able to place our order for drinks and food, it took 10 minutes for our drinks and napkins to arrive. After that, our server vanished into the kitchen for half an hour, leaving us with empty glasses. We had to ask another server to locate ours so we could get some assistance. Finally, our server returned with our food—it took about three to five minutes more for beverage refills and food delivery. We requested cutlery, butter, and gravy for the biscuits and chicken, but our server seemed more focused on serving other tables rather than attending to our needs. At one point, I noticed her talking on her phone while working, seemingly ignoring our complaints. After waiting an additional 25 minutes without seeing her, she finally returned with the check and asked if we needed boxes for our leftovers. It was frustrating to see that she was able to care for her other tables but not us. While the food itself was enjoyable and other servers appeared to be more attentive, we were disappointed with the service. Overall, our experience was overshadowed by the lack of attention we received.
We love cracker barrel and always have a good visit! Dependable service and sophisticated server combined with classic food makes it easy to recommend!
When I arrived at the restaurant, I walked in to see how busy they were, only to find that it was nearly empty. I even took a photo to document it. I could hear my call still ringing behind Ashley, so I pointed out to her that the kitchen never answered my calls and that I had been trying for the past 5 minutes. She then used her walkie-talkie to insist that someone needed to answer the phone for the takeout orders immediately. Finally, someone did pick up the phone but hung up right away without saying a word. Frustrated, I told Ashley that I needed to speak with a manager. She contacted Bailey, the manager, who took my order. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for my small plate, totaling a 40-minute wait for my order. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
I want to start by saying that I really like Cracker Barrel, as does my family. However, I felt the need to share my recent experience, which was quite similar to my last visit. The hostess seemed unprepared and made us wait well beyond the estimated time. Despite the restaurant having several empty tables, it was clear they were significantly understaffed. This situation negatively impacted the servers, who struggled to keep up. As a result, the overall service was poor, and we found ourselves waiting a long time to place our orders or make any requests.
I gave 3 stars ONLY because my Togo order wasn't correct at all. It was still a ton of really good comfort food....which is my favorite. Hot and fresh and satisfying. It doesn't really matter what you get. It's Cracker Barrel...always delicious and you get to buy a survivor on your way out so you'll never forget ?
