Pierre's is primarily a patisserie rather than a café, but they do offer a charming outdoor seating area that is shielded from the noise and distractions of the nearby highway. We visited for brunch and enjoyed a Parisian-style start to our day with a pastry and coffee. While they don't serve cooked meals, they do have a variety of pies, heated items, pastries, croissants, bagels, and cakes to choose from. Overall, Pierre's is more suited for morning or afternoon tea rather than a full meal.
I needed to update my old review of this restaurant. They have responded by adding eftpos and blinds to their outdoor area, making it worth a visit. The reason for its popularity is likely due to the lack of competition in Turramurra. Although my previous review was critical, they deserve credit for these improvements. With some cheerful staff, this place could be even better. Turramurra is no longer just for elderly retirees seeking coffee and pastries.
In the last 6 months we have been at pierre a few times, especially for their beautiful vanilla slices, probably the best we ever had done so well for it. Today we tried their cakes and cast rolls and were unfortunately not overly impressed. the beef bourguignon beef pie was very low on the filling for a $8 cake and not much taste. the sausage we roll on meat with too much baked. the other sad thing in this business is the recruitment of the personal, every time I went there, I was greeted by workers who are completely robotic in their service and never can smile or show an interest in their customers. it is not difficult to be pleasant.
Pierre’s makes the best mandel croissants among many other goodies. the French Christmas cakes are simply wonderful and come in various tastes. there are hearty objects like meatcake and roll. as there is an outdoor dining area, you can have a coffee. or order tea and eat there. simply try to avoid time when the cyclists are there at weeks or they don't get a table! and, bravo to the owner who fired outside when the Christmas ropes were on!
