King's Kitchen - Tuscaloosa

The food is outstanding the lady’s working out front are AMAZING! I love how they call me by name as I’m headed out the door!

Good food served with a smile. I had country fried pork chops, collard greens, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn bread and peach cobbler.

I have always enjoyed eating at King's Cafe when I come to town to visit my mom. My visit today was a little disappointing, the service was slow and inefficient. The tables weren't wiped down in a timely fashion. The young lady who took our order appeared dirty. She was wearing a stained t-shirt and her hands were dirty and underneath her nails were dirty. Her appearance does not give me confidence in the cleanliness of the restaurant. We watched her change the trash and walk out the restaurant with it slung over her back like Santa Claus. We had no assurance she washed after because we lost sight of her until we then watched her bag orders. I suggest you give her a standard uniform and SOP's on sanitary food service protocols. I've always loved this place and I hate to see the mediocre effort that exists there now.

My first time visiting. My mother's chicken and dumplings were horrible. It tasted like GRITS with chicken. No dumplings at all. The fried okra was cooked too hard and had sit to long. My gravy was runny like brown water on my hamburger steak. Customer service was great tho.

The best kept secret soul food spot in Tuscaloosa! Hands down, some of the best food I've eaten out. Good down-home southern food fixed with love and without pork seasoning. My husband and I have dined here twice within a two week period, and we do not live in Tuscaloosa lol! Hamburger steak, gravy, fried okra, and authentic mac n cheese!! Delicious!! Fried catfish with no oil remnants, collard greens( delicious), yams.. I can't sing their praises enough! If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Simple dining and very clean. You need to come see for yourself! We love this place!! And the desserts....goes without saying... To the King establishment, thank you for preparing such delicious food. Side note, they do have pork chop, prepared separately from the rest of their food. I don't eat pork, but my husband does, and he said they are beyond amazing.
