The disc golf course is quite nice. Hole 5 features a challenging right curve at the end, and it's easy to lose your disc in the trees—I almost did! Hole 9 is the widest of the course. Additionally, be mindful that it's intertwined with the regular golf course, so keep an eye out for other players while you play.
The golf course is excellently maintained. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to play through as much of it as we would have liked since we were heading home that day. However, I'm confident that the entire place is fantastic. It wasn't crowded at all, and we also spotted a variety of wildlife!
I really enjoy visiting the children at the 29 Palms Marine Corp Base because of the fantastic golf course there. It’s not overly challenging, as it lacks sand traps (except for the desert itself), water hazards, and the fairways are quite spacious. The greens and the surrounding areas are in excellent condition—better than the greens I’ve played on in Destin, FL. As a military retiree, I often play during the week, and I usually have the entire course to myself, which is wonderful! The views of the surrounding desert and mountains make the green fees worthwhile. Speaking of fees, an 18-hole round typically costs $28 for retired E7s, but on Thursdays, they offer a special rate of just $20. Not bad at all! Just a heads up about the heat—make sure to play early and stay hydrated. Lastly, as someone else pointed out, you'll find more golf balls than you’ll lose. Ha! In summary, it’s a fantastic place with great staff, and the views from the #11 and #17 greens are stunning!
