The food was subpar. Everything had a mediocre taste, but I suppose that's what you can expect when you're in the middle of the desert—you can't expect too much for the price.
The edamame is always a great appetizer. The fried rice is consistently excellent, especially when paired with a tempura shrimp roll. I concluded my meal with the Ninja Fruit Roll.
Four stars for the price and amount of food you get. It didn't get full 5 due to taste and a little bit of service. We had read a review prior to coming about how someone got their food but no silverware to eat it with. Welp, the same thing happened to us. We had to flag our server down to get forks even though our food was already on the table. I was nervous to get salmon but it was pretty good! The rice was good except some bits tasted like the burnt teppenaki (sp? top. With the salmon hibachi dish, I got a sale and soup. The soup was a little bland. The ginger dressing is different than what I expected more creamy. The shrimp were really good too. The servers were nice but a little slow. But not too bad for Japanese in the middle of North Dakota.
We stopped here in Dickinson on our way to Seattle. Got takeout and it was delicious. We ordered 3 eel avocado rolls and 2 kid's hibachi meals. The meals came with fried rice, 1 shrimp, veggies and onion soup. The veggies were perfectly cooked, no mushy mushrooms, broccoli or zucchini. Honestly had I realized how big they were I would have ordered just 1. Everything was less then $55 a total steal.
