The Gate - Uttlesford

We came to celebrate my sister Bday party and were very impressed in this place, starting with amazing staff, value and quality of food ending with such a warm atmosphere. Thank you so much. Highly recomending.

Delicious food, extra nice staff, beautiful ambience...

I absolutely adored this restaurant! The Lobster tagliatelle was the best I've ever had. The staff was incredibly friendly and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food.

Good food, good service by helpful staff and nothing seems to much trouble for them. Wonderful pizzas from a real pizza oven freshly made to your choice. A decent garden for the kids to play. A decent car park that seems to be full on most days. Booking is advisable as it is a popular place to eat. When I see some reviews about The Gate, I have to wonder if some people have actually been there to eat, poor food, poor service etc. I wonder if they are trying to do a disservice to a great eating house?

I got takeout from The Gate last night and it was fantastic. I had a designated time to pick up my order and the food was packed up and waiting for me when I arrived. They also had hand sanitizer available. I ordered the sea bass ravioli, and when I ate it at home, it was just as delicious as it is in the restaurant and still hot. I highly recommend The Gate if you're looking for a break from cooking.
