Cafe Medina - Vancouver

I was interested to see and eat at the Michelin guide, Cafe Medina. I came here around 8:45am. The table seats were already full. So I was solo and of course I was seated in the bar counter area. I could see the Michelin guide sign in front of me. The clerk was very busy moving around. You can see how popular this place is. I had a warm latte with lavender added. Next I chose two famous Liege style waffles topped with milk chocolate lavender and mixed berries compote. I guess I expected too much. The clerk was busy and didn't give much service. The expected waffles were not very warm and small size. The topping sauce was smooth and flavorful. I look forward to the next time and want to visit again.

Been coming here for years! The waffles and sauce is a must get. They use to have the fig marmalade sauce for the waffles. But I think they've discontinued it. Next popular flavour to get is the milk chocolate lavender. Definetly recommend the cassoulet, fricasse and les boulettes. Ended up getting the les boulettes, side of roasted potatoes with smoked chedder and lemon aioli and cassoulet. Keep in mind you may end up waiting for 1 to 1.5 hrs. Service can improve speedily. Take your time to enjoy your food as it takes a while to get to the table. Chit chat and cheers!

I went to this restaurant for brunch while staying at the hotel next door. It was crowded but we had made a reservation, so we were seated promptly. The tables by the window were cramped. The portion sizes were small and we thought everything was overpriced. The waffles were tasty. We both ordered a skillet but found it to be underwhelming. The raspberry latte was good, but the lavender latte was just average. Overall, we wouldn't hurry to return here.

Not your normal breakfast place, but that's why it's great. A little eclectic, but nothing over the top. From the coffees, to the main courses, to the waffles at the end. We all tried something different and they were all hits. Definitely a go to spot every time we're in town.
