Chaise Restaurant - Vancouver

A week or so ago, I took my girlfriends to have brunch at this restaurant and it was a very upsetting experience. Again. I have been there before because the food was good and remember seeing this kind of service and I am very disappointed that it’s always the same. The girl that was supposed to be out server, was on her phone for most of the time we were there. I stood up to ask her for coffee and I saw that she had her phone in her hands, inside a drawer, so it looked like she was doing something else. She looked upset that I caught her. She did not want to be there, for sure. Rolled eyes and the works. Talking to a couple sitting at the bar for way too long and ignoring the rest of us. The manager was the only one that looked like he was doing something useful. He came to check on us a couple of times and our server did not even look in our direction again.And to make things worse, I saw one of the homeless people that usually hang out outside a Mac Donald’s just waltz in and pour himself coffee and then sat down at one of the tables on the curb. As he walked into the restaurant and passed by us, the smell was unbearable. I almost gagged.I called the manager and told him what happened fearing for our safety and he apologized and said that that person worked at the restaurant. I was shocked. We felt very unsafe but mostly disgusted. Of course we will never return. A place that does not care about the hygiene of their employees will never thrive. Horrible. Do something about it.

Great spot to meet friends for casual dining! I love the patios (both front and back). Staff are friendly and the drinks are cold. Definitely one of my go to places on Main Street.

Service was great very kind, attentive and friendly servers. The seafood omelette, wings and chicken strips with fries portions were very generous! The “kick start” granola with fruit berries was slightly a smaller portion but was fresh and tasty. Good little sport for lunch or dinner.
