What a joy to be taken care of by true masters of their craft: from the chefs, the sous, the bartender, to the host… Everyone exuding world-class pride and passion. So proud that St. Lawrence exists in Vancouver. Don’t listen to the rubes who complain about the service charge, or whatever else. It’s standard practice now for many restaurants who care about their employees. Thank you for a beautiful evening. Consistently, every time.
The average Google rating of 4.7 based on 1000+ reviews speaks for itself.Great place to enjoy a memorable night over two hours of delicious small Quebecois dishes arriving at the table every 10 minutes or so. The service was naturally as good as one can expect for this Michelin starred restaurant. We told one waiter that someone in our party was celebrating his birthday, after which every server greeted him with a happy birthday during the meal. Everyone was happy to strike up a casual and friendly conversation as well. If you want a great night out over French/ Quebecois food, this spot is a perfect choice!
Everything was soooo good. Honestly I am not a big fan of french food in general but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service was here. I’m normally very picky with the way my dishes are cooked but my first visit was very impressive that I went back and celebrated my birthday here. I will definitely be back again as their menu locates very frequently!
St. Lawrence has been on my bucket list for a few years now and I was happy to see them win a Michelin star. My husband booked this place for my birthday and it ended up being pretty mediocre food, and then when you factor in the price we paid $312.50 including a mandatory 20% gratuity that you pay when you reserve, for two people), it was really not great and I would not recommend coming here. The highlights for me were the cod and side stripe shrimp appetizer, the pork rinds, and then foie gras amuse bouche. Everything else was just… okay or not good. The halibut main was dry and on the bland side. The desserts panna cotta and the raspberry pistachio Mille feuille) were either way too sweet or too bland. Between St Lawrence and Published on Main, I prefer the food at Published. The service was pretty good, they were attentive at removing plates and refilling waters. It was also really nice to sit in front of the chefs at the chefs counter, watching them cook the food. I personally wouldn’t go back here though. Oh and the portion sizes are not great either. My husband left hungry and had to go home and eat other things.
It's definitely not our favorite French restaurant. We are a bit shocked it was a michelin Star restaurant. What we do like is the service. Decent service.[Note: When you book online, you are forced to pay 20% tip.Parking: Paid side street parking The only dish we really recommend was their honey sorbet dessert (off menu). Great taste with different texture toppings that went perfectly together.Unfortunately, everything else was too sweet or wasn't the best we ever had.. or lacked flavor.
