Avant Clavo - Vaz/Obervaz

Terrible experience two days running. Crazy prices for the worst food. Very long wait for our food (45 mins) and they weren’t busy and seemed to have lots of staff. We were told our outrageously priced burgers (27 francs) would be increased to 30 francs if we have the lettuce removed for our kids! They didn’t even look freshly cooked. One daughter asked for no cheese in hers but it still arrived with cheese. The other asked for cheese and was told there was none (but still got some). What a shambles. We only went back because it was the only restaurant by the children’s slopes.

Please do not go to the Avant Clavo. The boss is extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. We ordered Rösti without bacon, which was served with bacon (after 30 min waiting time) and after pointing out our order, the bacon was merely removed (no new Rösti prepared), moreover, the cheese was missing. The host literally told us pay for it, I don 't see a problem, then leave and don 't come back , go back to Zurich and pointed out that we could leave a review, he was not interested, we should just not come back ever again. The concept of hospitality is definitely not lived here and is completely misunderstood. Too bad, a really disappointing and hostile experience, which I have never experienced after almost 30 years in Lenzerheide. I have never encountered such an undiscerning, unfriendly and arrogant person. We and also our table neighbors and hopefully all other guests will not come here again.

Food quality differs a lot between mountain regions and restaurants so we were happy to enjoy a tasty lunch in this restaurant. Also the staff is attentive, friendly and swift.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Angebot an Gerichten ist köstlich. Wenn Sie also eine Pause beim Skifahren einlegen oder Durst haben, sollten Sie hier vorbeischauen. Die Atmosphäre ist großartig und die Leute sind freundlich, es gibt eine Vielzahl von Getränken überall.

Nicht mehr so gut wie in den vergangenen Jahren. Es werden keine Spare Ribs mehr angeboten, aber die Burger sind lecker.
