Applebee's Grill - Venice

The restaurant was clearly short-staffed, which affected the overall experience. The food was mediocre and seemed rushed. This was not the best Applebee's I've been to. I usually take home leftovers, but this time I left my Alfredo Pepper Chicken behind. The waitress, however, provided excellent service. I hope they can hire more staff to improve the service, as the restaurant has great potential. On a positive note, the Meltdown chocolate cake was delicious!

The food service was excellent. We really enjoy going to Applebee's! Our server, Annie, was friendly and provided professional service.

Tonight was a busy night at the restaurant, which I usually like because it means the kitchen and wait staff are more efficient. However, this evening was not what I expected. It seemed like there were some new trainees on staff. Our waiter had a bit of a rude moment when he questioned our order right after we had just ordered an appetizer. And in the kitchen, it appeared that someone was confused between salsa and marinara sauce, which was a bit of a mix-up. The wait staff were also complaining about a shortage of cups, knives, and forks. I understand that it was a tough night, but in my experience working in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, we used to help out the dish pit when they were overwhelmed, rather than criticize them. Despite these issues, my Oriental Salad was delicious. Remember to tip your server in cash, as adding tips to paychecks and having to pay taxes on credit card tips is unfair. Overall, everyone has bad days and makes mistakes, so it's important to be understanding and remember our shared humanity.

The food was pretty good. Apps came out fast but will not get the Mac n cheese again. Watery and like it came out of a can. Rest of the meal was good. There was 4 of us.
