Baby Blues Bbq Venice

While on holiday from Australia, I wanted to try some authentic USA BBQ, and Baby Blues was conveniently nearby. We took an Uber there, and we certainly didn't regret it. The Memphis-style ribs and brisket were absolutely perfect, and I loved all the side dishes. The meal was exactly what we were craving and completely satisfied our BBQ cravings.

The lunch specials available until 4 PM offer great value. I enjoyed a variety of meats, including excellent hot links with a smoky chili flavor, as well as brisket and pork that were flavorful, although slightly chewy. While it may not be the best BBQ around, the staff were friendly, and the quirky restaurant atmosphere really stands out in this otherwise bland area.

The restaurant has an interesting novelty appeal, although it tends to be a bit pricey. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth checking out! <br/> Food: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Value for Money: 3.5/5 Overall: 4/5

I also sampled a piece of Buttermilk Chess Pie, a new addition to the menu that they asked me to review, and it was perfectly fine. They have a few issues to work on; I wasn't fond of the cornbread either, but I understand the chef's unique take on it. Despite those minor concerns, I must say, it's all about the meat here. The ribs were perfect—could easily compete with those served at 'Memphis in May.' They were not overcooked and fell off the bone, unlike many places in the city where they tend to be tough and chewy. For beef lovers, they also offer "Big" bones, which I’m sure are just as great. There are five different sauces available if you're into that sort of thing. So, if you're in Venice, CA, give this place a try!

This place has fantastic BBQ! Baby Blues is absolutely excellent! Honestly, I didn’t expect to find such good BBQ in Southern California! The beef rib is among the best I’ve ever had – I would definitely recommend it from their menu. I also tried the Blue Devil platter, which turned out to be a bit too much food for me, but I gave it a try anyway!
