The Black Stallion - Vernon

I'm from Boston and I'm used to eating well. If we eat in the middle of nowhere when we visit the family of upstate New York, we have low expectations. BUT this place is completely phenomenal! My FIghter and I enjoyed the delicious, damp tuna special while my husband shaved over the pig. I have never written a review, but was inspired by this experience. I also spoke to the owner who advised that he did all the sauces himself and told me how he carefully puchases to achieve the excellent meal we have experienced!

Absolutely worth the stop!! Everything was beyond what we expected! What a great gem. Jenny was a fantastic server and the host (aka the owner) was so personable and truly loves his place and it shows! Thank you to the entire staff for providing such a wonderful meal in an amazing atmosphere. Our new favorite when we are in the area!

Stopped on a Saturday without reservations but they found a table for us without hesitation. Great service. Food was out quickly. It was delicious! My husband had the pork chop and I had the chicken and shrimp special. So much food I couldn't finish it. Highly recommend this restaurant. If we lived closer, we'd be coming here every weekend.

We went to The Black Stallion last month. I had the Seafood Stuffed Haddock and my boyfriend had the Broiled Haddock special. The food was very good. The waitress was very friendly as well! We will return.

This was some of the best and unique flavored food I have had in a while. Great Italian food, made to order, with fresh ingredients. Even the salad we had to start with was very good. I had honey mustard dressing that I'm pretty sure was fresh made there. Prices were what I would expect for a restaurant like this. Will definitely be going back for another meal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
