BX Creek Bar & Grill - Vernon

A lovely setting and very pleasant, but extremely busy staff (translating into lengthy waits for anything). Food arriving at table looked very attractive; however much was not user friendly. The fruit bowl with yogurt and granola topping have enormous chunks of fruit in bottom - difficult to make smaller at the table and the Montreal smoked hash tasted great - at least that what ended up consumed and not sliding onto table and into lap due to narrow serving platter (too small for amount of hash browns it contained).Not a garnish in sight with regard to French toast platter severed to ma mere. Coffee took forever to arrive and never refilled throghout the 2 hours we were all there.

The food was very good, service was good. Slow getting our meal...we had tickets to an event that started at 7...got there at 5:15 and didn't get our meal until 6:35. So we had rush...had appetizers but to much time between appetizers and meal. They had no lemon for the water and didn't have the wine we choice. However, again the food was good.

I take my Mother in Law to the BX Creek Creek Bar and Grill often for lunch as its a place she really enjoys, so for her 83rd birthday celebration this is where she wanted to go. I called to make reservations as there were quite a few of us and only got voice mail so I left a very detailed message for the time, date, and number of people on the answering machine also requesting a confirmation call. The next day I called back to confirm the reservation and still no one answered so I mentioned again the details of reservation and requested a call back to confirm. On the 3rd day after still not hearing back from anyone and only getting the answering machine, I called into the afternoon of the day we expected to have our dinner, until I got a person on the other end and they didn't have our reservation , and couldn't get us in that evening as they were booked. I asked how a person was supposed to make a reservation if they didn't check their reservation voice mails or answer the phone, well, she didn't know. I then left a voice mail for the general manager explaining this situation wondering how are reservations made here..and still haven't heard back from him at all either... needless to say BX Creek Bar and Grill doesn't seem to care all that much so, sad to say ... probably won't be back..

Ordered the antipasto platter. Looked forward to the grilled vegetables as listed in the menu description. Nope. No grilled veggies. Waitress checked with the kitchen and came back with an explanation: "The Executive Chef decided to remove the grilled vegetables from this menu item". Yay, chef! Cioppino good.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner in a beautiful, quiet atmosphere. He ordered the Chili Cheese Dog and it was rather good, I had the Albacore Tuna and the entire plate was wonderful. We have eaten here many, many times over the years but this was the first time in a while. It was so nice to sit in such a quiet place. Our server Robyn was very good. Very professional but friendly as well. We will definitely return and recommend to friends.
