Captain D's - Vestavia Hills

I enjoyed the fish I picked up today, it was hot and tasted good. my only problem could have been the long waiting period until my food comes out, but the young lady who brought it out was very polite and apologise for the long waiting period. I thought that was nice of her.

This captain D’s is located at montgomery hwy in vestavia. eating is very cheap; they give senior discounts, have delicious combos for 4.99 and as VIP member they can earn reward points with each visit. if the points add, they get a free dessert or another perk to be a VIP member. I just came from another great visit to Captain D’s! rodrick waited for me on the way and he was so pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating that I told him he needed an increase. he explained to me that the VIP membership was now via email rewards. I told him I received an email reward and was there to get my dessert with my meal. he offered me a drink while I waited. I told him I would definitely be back to see him!

I strongly advise against coming here. Trust me on this. They took my money and then asked me to circle the building. When I did, I saw five other cars waiting! I ended up waiting for 23 minutes. If I hadn’t already paid, I would have left. It’s absolutely frustrating and disappointing.

The staff seemed disinterested in their work and were mostly outside during our visit, which made us unsure if they were actually open. While the food was decent and the restaurant was clean, the service left a lot to be desired.

In contrast, the Vestavia location is quite the opposite. While the actual dining area is nice and tidy, the staff seems to be more focused on rushing customers through the drive-thru to meet time targets, which is disappointing. It feels more like a fast-food operation aimed at maximizing efficiency rather than creating a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere isn't what it used to be, and the Vestavia location definitely lacks the charm of Gardendale's.
