Restaurant Zefork - Vevey

We had reservations for a Sunday evening. Nice looking restaurant in a great location, but only one main course was available steak, which was very tasty but much too fatty. Our server (Noe) was excellent, other staff a bit less so. Compared to other restaurants in Vevey, we found Ze Fork to be overpriced and overrated.

The restaurant is beautifully located and the design is very appealing. Unfortunately, the food was insufficient to poor. We ordered fillet (medium). The meat was more than well done. It was anything but tender and when we asked for a sause, we were offered ketchup. In a meat restaurant, at least bernaise, hollandaise or a pepper sauce should be offered. We were done eating and our plate was not even picked up when we already paid. Also, the waiter did not ask how the food was. What should be standard in such a restaurant and at these prices. This restaurant is nice but the food is not recommended. Meat is one in many other places much better. I never wrote a bad recommendation until now, but the food and service is not recommendet.

Booking is often advised given that it took us 3 attempts to get a table. The menu is set out quite differently in what seemed to me as 'themes ' e.g. between the 3 of us we had: 1. La Ferme 2. La Mer Plat 3. La Torre We initially intended to share but, when the food arrived, it was so nice, everyone wanted to keep their whole dish to themselves!

Our friends and us chose to eat here as part of an excellent railway tour holiday! The food was of an excellent standard and the service and staff matched its excellence. We would recommend here in a heartbeat and would come back again if we ever had the chance! Thank you to all the staff who looked after us! Pam Hewitson
