Írjon visszajelzéstCold sushi rice? I visited during my work trip to Victoria. I had high hopes based on reviews. The quality of the fish and service was great, however, the sushi rice for both my maki and nigiri was terrible. It was cold and hard, and very small (forthe nigiri). It honesty seemed like, instead of using freshly cooked rice for each piece of nigiri, that they were using premadelittle balls/pads if rice made the night before and stored in the fridge. Definitely would not go back if this is the quality ofrice being used.
I ordered a chirashi don at this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. It cost $25 and the portion size was way too large. The fish was sour, old, and tasteless, indicating that it was frozen. The shrimp was also sour and left my stomach feeling unsettled hours later. I suspect that the only reason this place stays in business is due to the tourists. I recommend going to Sen Sushi instead.
Different owner, all the goods are gone. The server lied to us when he didn't have a kind of beer we ordered. He brought a different beer to us without saying anything. We ordered another beer from a different lady, and she just said the beer was notwhat we ordered because the one we ordered was sold out. Anyways, Even apart from this, I really see this place is not as sameas a few years ago anymore. The food changed completely. I rather get sushi from a supermarket. It's really sad because itused to be my favourite sushi place in town.
My coworker has been talking about this place non-stop and finally convinced me to give it a try. I was hesitant at first because I had a bad experience here when I was 16 (my daughter is the same age now) and got sick afterwards. The food quality was decent, but not extraordinary. The sashimi was fresh but not exceptional enough to make me want to rush back. The presentation of the assorted sashimi was lacking and not worth the price. My beef teriyaki was overcooked despite ordering it medium rare. The service was slow and it took a long time for them to return with the bill. Although I didn't get sick this time, I left feeling hungry and unimpressed. I think this place is overhyped and would only consider going back if I had company, and would probably try something different on the menu.
I have reviewed Ebizo before and just wanted to provide an update. This restaurant is still the top choice on Vancouver Island for sushi and tataki! The staff is excellent and the atmosphere is great.
