Ricky's All Day Grill - Victoria

We had a great evening here, myself, my wife and our 1 year old daughter. We had the warmest of welcomes, and the manageress was brilliant. It really did feel like a real family Restaraunt. The owner treated us like royalty too, and he spoilt our daughter with fruit & ice cream! The food was excellent, and we hardly had to wait at all. Can't recommend enough! The manageress Is an absolute credit to your business.Diolch!

Had not been to Rick's for some time and thought we would give it a whirl for my sister's birthday.We were greeted promptly and shown to a table but the menus and wine list were just dropped on the table and the server walked away before we were even seated.When the server came back to ask about drinks I requested a coke without ice and without a straw. My drink came with ice and when I got a refill the drink came with ice and a straw.My wife had the lasagna, my sister had the "ordinary burger" and I had the mushroom burger. My sister had asked for her burger without relish. Neither of the burgers had relish and my burger has so much mustard that it was dripping all over the plate and my hands. Tasty but unnecessarily messy.My wife enjoyed her meal but found it was too large a portion for her to eat comfortably and she took part of it home.We overheard a patron complaining that her meal did not come on a bed of rice as stated in the menu and the server confirmed that a mistake had been made. She was not going to be charged for her meal.We also found the canned music was louder that was comfortable for us to have a normal conversation.

We went there for brunch, this week. The staff were very friendly and service was prompt. I ordered the Grand Forks Breakfast and my girlfriend ordered the Works omelette. They didn't skimp on the portions for either meal and it promptly arrived hot and delicious. It was a very good value for what you get.

We recently visited this restaurant as we had just arrived to victoria from a long flight. Just looking for something to eat we decided to just try this restaurant across from where we were staying. .we had the 'works 'omlettte ..absolutely delicious abandoned Tammy our server was welcoming and professional. We returned just before our flight back home and we weren't disappointed. We'll be back and excellent service Tammy

Sometimes the staff really does matter, and that is the case here. Though busy, the greeter really took time to walk us through the menu, pointing out specials we did not know about (awesome ones!) and her favs and notsos. Very helpful. Then the waitress took over and went a step further with personal opinions about the dishes offered. We think it is a server's job to have an educated opinion about the fare, and these folks do for sure.We tended to not go with the recommendations, and there we were idiots. The one they did recommend (beef ribs) was excellent, the two others we ordered on our own limited wisdom -- Dumplings and Spinach Salad -- were both losers. For an expensive salad, it's nothing but a slightly-glorified side salad, with bare wisps of the key ingredients its supposed to have (crumpled cheese, where was it? A dusting maybe?) and even KEY ingredients completely missing. That dish should never have left the kitchen.The other mains we saw go by -- club sandwiches, burgers... -- at least looked like generous portions.So work with the excellent wait staff and try to go with their recs. Our bad. Service is not just sage, but extremely welcoming also, with comfy spacious seating, several big screen TVs on sports venues, and responsive attitude to special requests (of which the table next to us made about a dozen). All managed with smiles!
