GoBistro at Cabot Shores

We spent the night at Cabot Shores and had Dinner at the GoBistro! 2 couples and all the food was absolutely delicious!! ????????

The food is good but not great nor excellent. They only had a few options which is okay has it was during a slow time. However.......the meal was overpriced. I paid $20 plus for a meal that really should have been $16 at most. Still that was not really an issue for me as it's a local business that seems to really value sustainability; which, I am more then happy to pay extra for. The place is in a lodge so the atmosphere is casual. So is the service........the service was actually too casual. We recieved our food, finished our food and waited patiently with empty plates while the staff ate together. Still not a problem, glad to see them have a family meal together. None of these things things by the self were an issue. What was an issue........I found out they automatically added the tip to the bill without asking or telling us first. Funny enough I usually roundup and tip 20% after tax, it's not the tip I resent. I don't like the option of tippping and how much to tip being taking away from me.......After all it's my money. Prices were on the menu but there was absolutely no info informing the customer of an auto grat. Not cool!!!!!!

We ate at the bistro both nights of our stay. Unfortunately the second night was the chef's day off. But the owners made a gluten free pasta that was delicious. The fresh cod the night before was cooked perfectly. The only recommendation I have for improvement is to have a real sit down breakfast that is included with the price of the room (especially off season) - as a healthy real breakfast is more in line with the health consciousness of the whole place - walking, kayaking, morning meditation and acupressure treatments.

We had an excellent stay at the resort and the dining experience was part of it. From fresh baked bread and home made yogurt and granola for breakfast to the fall inspired evening meals we were thoroughly impressed. In fact, we had the best lamb shank ever.

We spent a night at Cabot Shores and were encouraged to stay for dinner. By far, it was the absolute best meal we ate during our entire trip! My husband had a haddock dish, while I had a chickpea and chicken curry dish. Best homemade bread you will ever eat! The food was delicious, the waitstaff super friendly, and we enjoyed sipping our organic coffee and homemade carrot cake on the comfortable couches by the fireplace. We would return again, if not for this incredible meal.
