Cafe Vapor - Vila Nova de Gaia

We called in to Cafe Vapor for a drink and to suss out possible places to have dinner. We sat outside and after 10minutes hadn’t had any service so went inside to buy beers. All of the staff seemed preoccupied and didn’t have an interest...in serving us drinks. They even closed the front door to go inside leaving customers outside with no service and no way to go inside and order.. It was all very strange. In the end it helped us to make a decision and go elsewhere for dinner. The view of this restaurant is nice and is it faces out to the water however I would encourage others to wander the streets a little rather than settling for an easy option which appears to have the appeal of the views.

We stopped by this cafe for lunch based on a recommendation from our food tour guide. It was the best advice we have heeded! We had the grilled squid and grilled prawns, while sipping the house vinho verde. This is by far the most delicious...seafood we have had! The smells coming from the outdoor grilll enhanced the experience. Since the day was rainy and cold, we ate indoors. The place is tiny and service is brusque but the food is worth the visit. Arrive early.

Se non fossi stato avvisato da una signora locale, non credo che mi sarei mai fermato a mangiare in questo ristorante sulla strada in una zona di pesca al di fuori del centro della città, ci siamo arrivati in taxi. Pesce fresco che viene cucinato fuori sui bracieri; visto la stagione e il calore che mangiamo all'aperto, peccato per il passaggio delle macchine, ma il cibo è grande e il personale veloce e cortese.

Restaurante típico do local, Afurada, sem preciosismos, com clientela fiel aos bons grelhados de peixe e lulinhas deliciosas.Excelente atendimento e serviço muito eficiente mesmo com a casa cheia dentro da sala e na explanada (no passeio)Preços justos, com dose e meia/dose em quase todos os pratos.Ambiente acolhedor, mesmo familiar.
