Írjon visszajelzéstLovely location, good view over the river, completely dead on a Saturday at 3pm, even though not many places had football on this side of the river and a world cup match was on. Beer followed by bread/olivies came quickly, drinks prices are very high and food is pricy too. When food eventuality came it was quite tasty and decent portion but took a very long time to arrive. This was followed by coffee which was average in taste but cheap, oddly at no point was I asked if I wanted more beer, especially as this is effectively a sports bar. Then a very very long time easily 30 minutes) to be asked for bill, so went to pay at the bar. On getting the bill the bead and olives that weren't asked for were add to the bill and not complimentary as I had eaten some they charged €2.50) aparently they would have just taken them away otherwise to be served in someone in several hours or thrown away? I'm not sure), while a few euros is not a huge amount the principle was poor with the menu stating any food consumed must be paid for which feels like a trick in hindsight) , this sums up my feelings of the bar/restaurant in general. There is a huge array of great places to eat and drink in the area, many with great views, avoid this one as it is expensive and the service even when empty is slow. I did feel sorry for berating the waiter/barman about the bread/olives as he didn't speak English at all as far as I could gather and just following company procedure, so hardly the poor guys fault.
Very very disappointed in this stop. Had a staff member outside inviting you in. Took us to the rooftop, great view of the Douro river. The restaurant was not busy at 2pm. A bartender present, we had to go to him to order a beverage. We immediately ordered hamburgers, at 2.35 the waitress said 10more minutes. At 2.45, bartender said 10more minutes. We received 2 hamburgers and chips(out of a bag) after3pm. Burgers barely cooked. An awful experience, would not recommend this place to anyone. Menu had an English component but the staff unlike other experiences in Porto spoke very little English.
Frankly, we ate here because we had a tour scheduled at Graham's Port Cellars and wanted to catch a quick bite to eat beforehand. This restaurant on the Gaia riverside was nearby. What a pleasant surprise it was! We ate outdoors on the upstairs roof deck with a view of Porto. It was a really mild late February afternoon and with the sun shining we didn't even need our jackets. There's waitress service. We all ordered the plate of the day and for only 6 euros (yes! only 6) we got a big bowl of freshly made vegetable soup, a beer, a plate of roast chicken with salad and incredibly delicious roasted potatoes. Everything tasted like it was made from scratch. We had to leave after that because of our tour, but had we stayed, we would have gotten coffee and a dessert as well. What an incredible lunch.
