El Padrino - Villafranca del Bierzo

This place was referred to us by the owner of the place we stayed. She said they have excellent food, so we went. I was with my friend who speaks the language. To much of our dismay, the manager or owner was so mean to us. We were just standing there, and he has nothing to do with us. No smile, mean man. We told him we want a table but he said no, every table is occupied. To our eyes, there were lots of tables that were empty. My friend asked if we can set in the bar, which is totally empty, and in a very rude tune told us absolutely not . I was already at the doorway, so embarrassed but my friend still insisted to be seated. I am a restaurant owner myself, with 5 restaurants on my belt. I treat my customers with respect no matter how they look like. Maybe we just don 't fit in or maybe because we are not locals, especially me, I am Asian American. I never experience racism ever, now I know.

Very friendly service by delightful people! Food was great too! Partner enjoyed bacon and egga and I enjoyed Interesting yogart and fruit. Most enjoyable experience.

Another delicious menu del dia. I had lamb, and they gave me enough for about 4 people. Great food, fantastic value.

Quality home cooking, good service and at the price of joto.

An authentic past, the wine I don't tell you anymore, for a while I didn't visit an authentic place, the food is a delicacy. I recommend it to anyone who is near the French villa of the bierzo
