Chadwick's American Chop House

Chadwick 's continues to provide excellent food and very good service. It 's one of the few restaurants that has maintained this consistency for many years. The quality and portions are very good. We used to dine at Chadwick 's several times a year, but for the last couple of years we only dine here one or two times a year. So why is this when the food is excellent? I am totally against the surcharge 3 they add to bills when paying by credit card. They craft the wording to say something along the lines of, we give a 3 discount for cash payment. Call it what you will, the practice is punitive in nature and does not speak well for a business in the hospitality industry. Our server and the other staff were excellent. But I rated the experience Very Good. Why? When I paid our bill, I paid by both a gift card $100.00 and by credit card about $60.00. So when our server gave my receipt back, she said you had a very cheap meal! I was very taken aback as was my wife by such a statement, but I did not say anything as otherwise our server was excellent. However, I don 't like to have a $160.00 20 tip meal to be characterized as a cheap meal especially as we were celebrating a special event. For many people this may indeed be a cheap meal, but for us it was anything but. I hope management makes an effort to train their staff to withhold comments on the relative expense of their customer 's meal. Will we go back to Chadwick 's? Yes, because the food is excellent and several important life events over the years have been celebrated there. But given our last experience at Chadwick 's, we 'll keep our visits to perhaps one or two times a year.

Good food and service. I had to remind them of my Caesar salad, but soon after, the rest of the meal came with a free birthday dessert for me. The waitresses sang Happy Birthday to me,

My husband and I just had our 8th wedding anniversary dinner at Chadwicks. It was a delightful experience! We were greeted by a very personable man (I apologize for not getting his name)! He was aware of our anniversary and treated us to 2 glasses of Prosecco. Then proceeded to introduce us to Susan, our server. Susan was lovely and very friendly, as well! The entire staff there was nice, professional and on top of everything. We ordered from the Three Course Prix Fixed menu for Rockville Centre's Restaurant Week. The dishes were delicious and delicately presented beautifully! We ended taking the home the desserts, which was the Dark Chocolate Pecan Bread Pudding and the Strawberry Shortcake. They were delicious, as well!! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

My wife ordered a shrimp, scallop and risotto dish for dinner. The shrimp and scallops were very good but the risotto was tasteless. I ordered a my strip steak that was very good. The overall experience was very good.

I typically love this restaurant, I've dined here quite a few times with family and friends. When going to check in, the hostess couldn't find my reservation. I showed her the confirmation, she barely looked at it and said “we will have to seat everyone else before you because they have reservations”. Well so did I! I'm pretty sure they sat people who had later reservations who arrived after us. As someone who was a hostess for years at a fine dining restaurant, I understand the stressful situation so I was pleasant, yet was greeted with harsh tones as if it was my fault that the reservation couldn't be found. To seat every living breathing person before our table of 4 seemed petty and rude, and we waited for about 30 minutes after our reservation. Management apologized to us multiple times for the wait as if we were just walk-ins. The waitress was nice, however we had to ask for bread after appetizers came out. Food was wonderful as usual which made up for the attitude of the front desk hostess. In the future, please look into why a reservation is missing and try to get the table sat in a decent amount of time, as it is not the fault of the customer that there is a glitch in the front desk computer. Might take a break from coming here as the experience left a sour taste in my mouth, which is truly a shame as it was one of my favorites.
