Írjon visszajelzéstThe restaurant had a bit of charm, but we were not overly impressed by the wine selection. They offered 3 tastings for $15, and unfortunately, we did not feel that the tasting fee was justified by the quality of the wine. The service was polite, but we were expecting more after trying their rosé at the LCBO. Perhaps it was just an off day during this season.
Yesterday afternoon, we made a stop on our way back to Hamilton. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the restaurant is very pet-friendly, as they warmly welcomed our dog. Unfortunately, we missed out on trying their famous slammers, which are only available during certain seasons. Despite their limited menu selection, the taste and quality of the food were excellent. I look forward to returning in the spring to enjoy another meal and see the beautiful surroundings.
We were a group of three and founded our own weintour. we visit the region 3 or 4 times a year. this was the third of seven stations for this visit. that seems to be a relatiw little weingut, and that was ours. first visit in this weingut. the facilities were operated from a rebuilt farm house weinladen, tasting and restaurant picturesque but crowded. the tasting was carried out in free. there was a feeling of joy with this visit, as this was the home of the weinbauer 2019 of the year. what a disappointment. only two red wines were listed in their tasting menu. neither varietal was of interest to us. the people were friendly enough if not a little confused. I couldn't talk to anyone. we left. we will not return.
The service at this restaurant is excellent. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, after heavy traffic on the QEW near closing time, but the staff was still attentive. We sat near a picturesque 100-year-old stone oven on a bench that reminded me of something from a classic book. Featherstone is not a place of extravagant luxury, but enough attention is given to keep it well-maintained. Our surprise was the heart of sheep dish, made from calm creatures with enchanting charms. The peaceful environment was complemented by the scenic views. I was hoping to see fish or frogs in the pond, but none were found. Maybe there were turtles at some point, but it felt like there was a sadness around the absence of certain features. Despite this, there are still individuals who care for the place and strive to maintain its integrity and passion for fine wine, especially on the side facing the hills where the sheep roam freely.
Lovely setting but didn’t like being gouged to buy two bottles of wine to waive $8 tasting fee, and then told that it would cost an additional $7 corkage fee if we wanted to enjoy our wine with pizza on the veranda. Would not return...but will buy their excellent wine from the LCBO.
