Fantastic location, beautiful nature. I have respect for the hotel's history. But the place needs lots of love and much better management. I booked a room with the lake view, which was the whole point to choose this place, but we have got a room with forest view. Disappointed . At the reception, they said there was no availability

Such a waste of potential. This hotel has the potential to be a great place with its beautiful location and surroundings. But unfortunately the inside and service isn't quite up to par. Rooms were hardly sound proofed at all, air-condition either not present or not working because my room were so warm i had troubke sleeping, and the shower is so small it could barely fit an average sized person. The breakfast was decent, nothing more nothing less. The dinner buffet was mediocre at best, and paying $55 nok 550 you'd expect quite a lot more to be honest. After 6pm it wasn't possible to get anything else than the buffet, which was disappointing. We didn't get back until 6:15 from a long day on our motorcycles and didn't get any other option the the buffet. Sunday breakfast didnt have enough bacon either. The patio outside was nice for a cold beer, but after a while we went inside to stay a bit warmer and when we tried to get a beer inside we were told to go outside to order it because quote: we don't want people enjoying a beer inside. Honestly, if you don't want people drinking alcohol inside, why on earth do you have a couple of well sorted bars inside? And just to top it off, the bartender just came and took my beer before I managed to finish it and while my friends still had more left in their glasses. So a great location and potential, but service was terrible

Rooms are a bit dated, however sleeping is no issue at all due to peaceful environment.

I can't describe the rooms since we used the hyttes in Vårdal Panorama but I can tell you that the service they provide is very good. We had an issue with registering the power consumption but they quickly solved the issue. If you are a biker you might like this as well. On their site you will find some permanent parked bikes.
