We decided to dine at this restaurant based on its inviting name and the presence of a few diners already inside. However, we were ultimately disappointed. The coffee was served lukewarm and the steak sandwich, priced at about $14, came out with some confusion regarding the other meal. The focaccia was limp and un-toasted, with a small amount of grilled cheese, two slices of tomatoes, salad leaves, a small piece of steak, and very overcooked bacon. The side of chips was minimal, perhaps around 10 pieces, and not very appetizing for the price. My friend ordered the nachos for about $14, which was a strange dish. The nachos were barely toasted/grilled, topped with a small scoop of guacamole and sour cream, and a smattering of refried bean paste on a handful of semi-broken soft corn chips. It was also lukewarm, and additional jalapenos on the side required an extra $1.50. The total bill, including a small soft drink, came to nearly $40, which we felt was a waste of money.
I took the GF out for lunch and wanted to try something different. we were at that end of Balis street and thought we should at least give it a go. i ordered a vegetarian focaccia and my gf enjoyed her calamari with chips and salad. My focaccia was quite expensive, around $13 and the calamari was around the same mark.We both recieved our meals before our coffee and my focaccia was just a focaccia on the plate. it tasted yum but the items up on the board were not what was in the focaccia i was eating. i informed the waitress and a new fresh one was made up for me.my gf calamari was great, it came with chips you owuld expect and a salad that had no dressing on it. as a chef you should never send out a salad with no dressing on it unless asked by the customer. There was no music at all and just made the place feel a little miserable. There owner needs to find some simple fundamentals of a good cafe and make some minor changes. The place just does not feel alive.
You couldn't buy a smile in this place on a Saturday morning. I ordered scrambled eggs for my daughter and told them it was for a child and they poured in the pepper so she could. Not eat it. THe bacon was dry and hard. My other daughter ordered pancakes and the were almost three centimetres thick drowned in syrup and icing sugar. At. Over $60 for breakfast we ate the Mercure the next morning for almost half the price and the food was amazing. It took 25 minutes for two coffees and there was no one else in the cafe. Maybe an off day but we won't be back.
We were looking for somewhere for 'brunch' in Wagga and found this place. It looked busy, but service was surprisingly quick. We couldn't believe the variety and amount of dishes to chose from the menu. The food came quickly and was wonderful.
