China Golden Gate - Waltham Forest

I would not give any stars if possible, but unfortunately that is not an option. The customer service is non-existent and they refuse to cancel orders even if they cannot fulfill them. I highly recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs!

Was late in the night hungry, so I thought I would give my closest Chinese a jump, ordered the crispy aromatic escape. the flesh was full of fat and when I removed it there was only about half a pot of mushygrey meat. the worst part, although the Hoisin sauce was, it literally tasted like blood and had a disgusting bitter after the taste. absolutely terrible. could not carry on after the first two bites, had to throw everything in the garbage. the biggest waste of money.

That's the worst Chinese thing I've ever had. the food was tasteless, the reserve ribs were boiled and chew, the suppe had hard meat pieces in it and the spring rolls were undercooked. absolutely revolting.

We decided to order takeout from this restaurant since our usual one was not open yet. We were intrigued to try it out since it was listed on Deliveroo, but we were very disappointed with the quality of the food. The special fried rice was questionable, the Singapore noodles had strange cubes of processed meat, and the crispy shredded duck was soggy and unappetizing. It was so bad that we couldn't eat it and ended up throwing it away. We had to have a sweet cup of tea to recover from the shock. We do not recommend eating here, as it may not be safe.

My daughter and I ordered a takeway: some ribs, sesame toast, crispy shredded duck, chicken satay, and special fried rice. We really did try to eat some of it, but with the best will in the world, it was inedible and although she is...quite discerning in her food taste I am really not, which says it all.... First of all, it was not even warm. The sesame toast was so greasy that you couldn't taste it for all the dripping oil. The meat in special fried rice was very strange it came in unidentifiable gray little square cubes resembling cat food (I have cats, so I can compare). It tasted vile. The chicken satay was tough, tasteless and WITHOUT satay sauce. I The ribs were tough and tasted unpleasant. And the duck.... Well! The crispy duck finally pushed us over the edge and we chucked the lot in the bin. It was gray, cold, mushy.... I gingerly poked it with my finger more like a pate.... Totally vomit-inducing, even just visually. We didn't dare taste it. At this point, we seriously began to wonder what animals were involved in the preparation of the aforementioned dishes....We were vaguely traumatised by the whole experience feeling like we needed a shower to decontaminate. We have been unable to have another Chinese meal from anywhere for weeks now.... Might need therapy. To add insult to injury, it was easily the most expensive Chinese takeaway I had ever ordered, over
