Cajun King - Warr Acres

Positive news: Cajun buffet with fried fish. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was quite disappointing. The buffet costs $20 and only offers fried shrimp, blackened catfish, and fried chicken as meat options. The gumbo, etouffee, and basic sides were all very stale. The chicken was extremely tough and almost inedible. The sides appeared to have been sitting out all day and were unappetizing. The service was lacking, with the waitress only bringing water and fried fish, never refilling our glasses or clearing our plates. The owner mentioned that more items would be added to the buffet once more customers returned, but this excuse was not well received. Many other buffets in the area offer fresher food and a wider selection for a lower price. This restaurant, despite its high cost, felt rundown and neglected. The only redeeming factor was the fried fish, which was the only fresh item on offer. This experience only earns 2 stars out of 5.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants a few years ago, so when I heard they brought back their buffet, I had to revisit and see if it still lived up to my expectations. I am happy to report that the food was delicious, especially the fried shrimp which I love. I hope they bring back the bread pudding soon as well. The service was good and I had a pleasant dining experience. Meal type: Lunch.
