Írjon visszajelzéstWe went to Shogun for a birthday and this was not a very good experience. First, the ventilation was problematic and there was a significant amount of smoke during our visit. Secondly, there AC system was clearly not adequate in cooling the room. We were uncomfortable as far as the temperature was concerned. And finally, they clearly had a shortage of hibachi chefs as we must have had an hour wait from being seated to the chef coming to our table and starting the cooking. So overall, we must have been there a good 2 hours give or take. The wait staff and our chef were very courteous and our chef was very apologetic regarding the wait. So no complaints there and once he came to our table, he did a nice job. Compared to other hibachi restaurants we've eaten in though, the food was mediocre. We are unlikely to come back.
Overall I enjoyed my experience. I will definitely eat there again.. Kid-friendliness: Great for birthday parties of all age's
Yesterday a few friends and I went to dinner at Shogun to celebrate a friends birthday. This was by far the WORST experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The waitress was great, however, I found a piece of hair in my food. When I brought this to the waitresses attention she said she would speak with her manager and come right back. A manager comes over with rage in his voice already, with the plate of food in hand, places the plate of food back in front of me and says he does not see any hair in my food. I turn on my flash light and point out the piece of hair. He then replies that his cooks wear hats so it cannot be an employs hair so he doesn’t know what I want to do. He then implied it could be my hair. The hair was black. I have light brown hair. Overall his customer service was HORRIBLE. I’m a restaurant manager myself and I would NEVER speak to a customer that way! Not once did he offer an apology nor did he offer to remake my food. Finally, the bill comes my dinner (that was thrown away) was still on the bill. I asked the waitress to speak to the manager who was now sitting down on his phone drinking a beer! When he comes to the table I asked why was I still being charged for a meal I didn’t get to eat. His response was he didn’t like my attitude so he wasn’t going to work with me. After arguing he eventually took the food off of the bill while talking horrible about me and my friends to his staff. Blurted out loud he no longer wants me in his restaurant like I did something wrong! There was hair in my food!!!!! This was my first LAST time ever going here! The waitress knew her manager was wrong seems she apologized multiple times for his behavior and our experience! If I could give this place zero stars based on the managers actions I would! Shame on him talking to customers like that and shame on Shogun if they don’t take action in his behavior, maybe don’t allow him to drink on shift if he can’t control his temper!
Soli is the man but you have to get lucky to have him as your chef. There seems to be a shortage of Japanese Hibachi chefs. The last three times my wife and I have been to Shogun, we had an Anglo Saxon chef twice and this past weekend, we had a black chef. I have absolutely no problem with who is our chef as long as they can cook. IMHO, A lot of hibachi cooking is getting the different seasonings to blend together nicely and these three chefs did a wretched job. At each visit, the amount of salt that was used was ridiculous. It literally ruined each meal. Our blood pressure must have increased to dangerous levels. Portions were also in inconsistent with each visit. We are willing to drive the 45 minutes it takes for us to get to Shogun but I’m going to stay away the rest of this year. I really think Soli needs to retrain these guys big time.
Now I am a born and bred New Englander and I usually take issue with being seated with strangers. This experience changed nothing. However, the skill of the chef mixed together with the blinding flames of the onion volcano and the alcohol infused drink, captivated my senses. It was indeed a good show! Our chef, though being white, displayed coordination and skill such as only can be described as pretty fly for a white guy. Our daughter was captivated and it was almost more enjoyable to watch her reaction to the man who flipped an egg off his spatula and caught it in his hat. It was my first time at a hibachi and it won't be my last.
