Grits - Washington

The fried chicken and shrimp were the worst I've ever had. They were nearly burnt, and all I could taste was the burnt flavor and salt. It seems like they were cooked carelessly. They might want to consider changing their cook because the current one doesn't seem to know much about cooking—everything was just oily, burnt, and overly salty. I wouldn't recommend eating here unless you're absolutely starving and have no other options.

I decided to order from this restaurant on a whim, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the presentation and the flavor of the food. I had the brown sugar shrimp and grits, and the shrimp was perfectly seasoned, while the grits had a delightful texture and weren't too creamy. My only complaint is that I've been craving it all week, but it seems they're closed. I thought I read that they were open on Fridays, but when I tried to place an order, I encountered an error. It seems this restaurant hasn't fully reached its potential yet. Just don’t forget about me when you do and start offering regular hours!

You might expect that the side dishes from a soul food restaurant would save the meal, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Both the black-eyed peas and collard greens were incredibly bland, completely lacking in salt or flavor. It was odd because there were pieces that appeared to be turkey bacon in both dishes, but they resembled the overly processed variety found at the grocery store rather than something authentic. Still, none of the ingredients provided any taste—there was absolutely no hint of flavor. In conclusion, this meal was a huge disappointment, and the cost was quite high when you factor in taxes, fees, and tips. I won't be coming back to this restaurant. It's clear that the person managing the kitchen doesn't understand the core elements of soul food. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience!

I ordered takeout with great expectations. Given the name "Grits," I anticipated some delicious and flavorful grits. I opted for the spicy shrimp and grits along with a side of greens. Sadly, when I got home, I discovered that both dishes were underseasoned. They were okay, but nothing outstanding.

The customer service was disappointing. The staff was quite rude and disrespectful. I wish I could give a zero rating, as that would be more appropriate.
