Hill Country Barbecue Market

Get transported to a wild west canteen with good food. Yeah why, not. I'll take it. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxed. The canteen style actually works and is efficient, so you get the food from the counter and sit anywhere you like. The meat was good, roughly what I expected. So I can't complain. The price might be a bit high for what it is. I'm giving 5 stars because with the potential of live music, this place has potential and can be very lively.

Now this is BBQ!! I was a bit concerned when my pal said DC had good BBQ, but after this visit, I owed him a ?you were right!? Big spaces, nice tables and a full bar. The food was just amazing. Friendly staff and we never went without our glasses full. Somehow I was able to eat a whole brisket sandwich, beans with burnt ends, and two cornbread muffins. This was the best food I had in DC the whole week.

It was our first visit in town, after searching for a decent place to eat we ended up here and it really changed our trip experience. Starting from the atmosphere inside it is just so cosy and nice. The way you order the food is also a good experience but the highlight is the food ! This a unique Texas BBQ experience , everything tastes so good and when you are done you just want more ! Lots of appetizers available to add up to your plate. Good variety of beers and nice music

We love Hill Country and the food is consistently good each visit. One caveat for this visit though, I remember the Mac and cheese being a lot better than what it was this particular evening. It was still good but maybe it wasn?t as good as I remembered. There was a hockey game in the city tonight and this was a good treat before game time. The restaurant had good seating and the bar area had plenty of seats left. Overall I really enjoy the food and would go back for sure!

To be honest, I enjoyed the dining environment more than the food. The place was pretty large with a lot of interesting decorations. The hot link and the chicken were both delicious, but the beef was okay. The mashed potato was pretty good as well. It?s a nice place for casual dining with friends!
