Sushi Nakazawa - Washington

The sushi here is outstanding—it's truly some of the best in the city and on the East Coast. The 20-piece omakase is very satisfying and features all of the top-quality fish cuts. The service is friendly and attentive as well.

ALWAYS SIT AT THE BAR! It’s the only way to properly enjoy an omakase experience. This was our first visit to Sushi Nakazawa, and we were thrilled. However, I've noticed that omakase sushi has changed lately. The nigiri selections aren't what they used to be. They're incorporating innovative toppings like karashi (Japanese mustard) or yuzu mayo, which I feel are unnecessary and overshadow the true flavor of the fish. Thankfully, they didn't meddle with the aji.

From the moment you enter, you are immersed in the authentic omakase experience you've been anticipating. The servers and chefs are knowledgeable about the dishes they serve, and each piece of sushi has traveled great distances to reach your table. The ambiance is pleasant, and everything is clean and beautifully presented. The chef is friendly and has a nice touch, always serving the ladies first, which shows attention to detail that makes me want to return!

Phenomenal experience start to finish. Each piece of nigiri was thoughtfully curated and delicious. Service was wonderful. Highly recommend

Sushi that melts in your mouth. Initial server was a bit snobby, but thankfully the others were better. Restaurant?s entrance is also a bit difficult to find. High price point, but likely the best sushi I?ve had in DC.
