Dolcezza Gelato Factory Coffee Lab

The gelato was absolutely delightful, and the dulce de leche latte was scrumptious. I’m familiar with gelato and lattes, so I couldn’t resist trying it. The factory has a really interesting atmosphere with a hipster vibe and some great relaxing music. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

I first visited this restaurant during its opening weekend and have returned several times since. I'd seen some tweets about the overpriced tasting spoons, so I opted for a Sundae instead, thinking it would be a better value. I paid just over $7 for the 'Fruity Pebbles' Sundae, which featured a generous scoop of vanilla gelato topped with candied citrus zest. Although it still felt a bit pricey for just one scoop, I could tell that this scoop was more substantial than the three tasting spoons I’d heard about, so I felt satisfied with my purchase. Plus, it was delicious! While I'm not sure if I've had Fruity Pebbles before—I've always leaned more towards Fruit Loops—I can say that this Sundae tasted exactly as I imagined Fruity Pebbles would. I'd give them credit for capturing that flavor. If I lived nearby, I might not visit often due to the prices. However, since I don't get the chance to go to Union Market from Virginia very often, I'll likely stop by on each visit to treat myself if any of the Sundae flavors catch my eye.

The espresso drinks and pastries are excellent. The ambiance is lovely.

Go on the tour! Currently every Saturday and Sunday at 2:30, the tour is a cute thing to do that won't take a lot of time. And you get a free sample at the end. If you miss the tour no worries, you can still pretty much see everything from the public part, you just won't get the explanation. Otherwise it's just another Dolcezza (i.e. amazing) with a cool outdoor space and take home containers. Also keep an eye out for cool pop-up events that often feature custom made gelato.

I'm a big fan of Dolceeza and was super excited to see their factory/store location when I hit Union Market for the first time. I think they have the best gelato and sorbetto in the metro area. They source ingredients locally. Love the flavor combos like pineapple with hint of mint..so refreshing. They also have Stumptown coffee which is delish. Try the hair bender. How about an affagato...coffee over gelato! Cute decor with outdoor seating as well.
