I have read almost all the reviews and they are for the most part correct.

El Sol is fantastic The food is very authentic and full of original, unique flavor only gave it 4 stars because the service wasn't very good.

Probably the best, most authentic Mexican food I've had in DC in the few years I've lived here. Not many other places come close.

Loved the chicken and chorizo tacos. The (warm) chips and salsa were also great. We tried the veggie enchiladas and they were yummy. They do add a 20% service fee on top of their prices, it is mentioned on the menu so they aren't sneaking it in or anything like that. Ended up costing a bit more than I'd like but it's 2023 and inflation is hard on small businesses. Anyway, just go if you wanna try Mexican food in this area.

Food, vibe, and service was all top tier. The salsa especially was better than any other restaurant I have been to.
