Squiers Of Southwold - Waveney

Being vegetarians on holiday in Soutwold looking for a good lunch/dinner, we walked up one side of the main street and down the other, looking for a reasonably priced eatery. Opted for Squiers who offered an all day breakfast and was told they do a vegetarian option. When we got inside there was a 'special of the day ' board, and it was offering a nut roast, which we opted for. WOW, a nut roast with a selection of 8 vegetables, beautifully cooked and delicious, £9.95. If this had been on the board outside, vegetarians would have been fighting to get in the door. Squiers, let people know what vegetarian options you offer. Thank you for a really delicious dinner, but you could have saved us some footfall if you had advertised your vegetarian options outside, we could have chosen you much sooner.

We visited this restaurant over 45 years ago, when Southwold was a simpler place without all the shops and cafes it has today. Squires had a charming atmosphere with its delicious scones and small pots of butter. The lunch options were reasonably priced and there was a good variety to choose from. Our waitress was lovely. However, in order to maintain its charm and timeless appeal, the restaurant could benefit from some updates and decluttering while still preserving its character.

We arrived at 3:20 pm on a rainy afternoon and were disappointed to find that the cafe was closed. A chain was placed across the doorway, leaving us to wonder if they were not interested in or in need of our business.

My sister, mum and I ate at squires today all choosing different options from the menu. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, the portions were good and very well priced. Would definitely recommend this little gem of a cafe, not posh but comfortable. If it's good, well priced food your looking for then this is the place to go

What a charming little place. Lovely pot of tea with extra water. Beautiful vegetarian sausage bap. Felt like a lovely traditional English Cafe. I highly recommend a visit.
