The service and the taste mostly made up for the fact that they were our of fresh Spinach (twice) Since you are sharing space with a bar and multiple televisions you seldom wish to linger for conversation after eating but it was not overly loud.
Just had supper ! Delicious! Service great! Food delicious. Atmosphere great! Didn't have to leave Waynesville Inn for a delicious meal. Menu was affordable with lots of options . I posted pictures in photos .
I discovered a hidden gem in Waynesville. Creative menu, part pub, part fine dining. Alex waited on us and was very patient with our questions and special requests. The Cajun chicken Alfredo was wonderful and is on the menu. The spaghetti and meatballs was a special, homemade by the chef and was enjoyed by a sauce and meatball snob. Most items are made by the chef, including the chewy, dense and delicious brownie. Can't wait to go back to try the burgers.
Booking a party? Don't bother! Food was either over cooked or missing all together. Appetizers that were ordered were never even mentioned, plating was messed up for multiple diners at our table, BBQ sauce on a cheese burger?? It was ordered plain! French Fries were limp and cold. We arrived for 7:30 as planned, it took 1 1/2 hours to get our meals, delivered to half the table at a time, and the other half waited another 20 minutes for their meals, with 1 guest waiting an additional 15 minutes after that! 2 HOURS for what came down to burgers and fries. Dessert??? We placed our orders THREE weeks prior to arriving, they knew what we were ordering and yet they ran out of carrot cake (server never even bothered to ask if we wanted a replacement The Walnut Brownie Sundae was brought to the table in a bowl, thank God because the ice cream was completely liquefied and warm and they were going to serve it that way! Check your bill too there were nachos on 2 bills, neither of which had nachos to eat (because we never got them! One diner had to correct the bills for the server for us because he had no clue what was going on and the manager spent the evening walking back and forth through the room scowling with her arms folded across her chest if I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I've worked too many years in a restaurant to find last night's fiasco anything but a joke, it had to be a joke. A very poorly played joke.
The Tap Room Sports Bar and Grill is part of the Waynesville Country Club. Friendly waitstaff serve up mostly average food. The atmosphere is casual and pleasant, though things can get rowdier depending on golf parties. ;-D If you're visiting during warmer months, be sure to take a stroll around the grounds and enjoy some of the prettiest views in town. NOTE: Although the salad bar is wonderful, the warm portion of the lunch buffet is lacking. Thus, two stars.
