For dessert, we indulged in the Orange Treacle, which was decadently rich. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal and a memorable part of my Wellington on a Plate journey. I was disappointed to find that the Moroccan Lamb had been taken off the menu due to supply issues, but I decided to try the Algerian Lamb Pastry instead. It was excellent—crispy, flaky pastry filled with minced lamb. I also sampled the Tunisian Fish Balls. While enjoyable, I found this dish to be a bit on the salty side. The standout for me was the Algerian Aniseed Bread, served warm and melting in my mouth. I just wished they had provided butter on the side, but it seems that the WOAP menu doesn’t include butter options.
Has been our go to spot on Wellington for years. We’re incredibly sad that they’re closing. The service is always exceptional and the food is always absolutely delicious.
The owners and chefs took us on a wonderful journey through Jewish Indian cuisine, showcasing their passion for creating memorable dishes without sacrificing authenticity. As Malaysians with roots in South India who grew up on home-cooked Indian meals, each bite transported us back home. The spices were perfectly balanced, tempting us to indulge in more and more dishes. When we tasted the Thandiya-Chi-Bhakhri (a type of chapati) paired with their Brinjal Kasaundi, my husband, Muthu, couldn’t stop praising it. That was our first dish, and he felt an overwhelming urge to run over to Laura (one of the owners and a chef) to hug her. True to his word, when she came by to serve the Lamb Shank Curry, he jumped up, hugged her, and thanked her for making such a delicious Brinjal Chutney—one of his favorites. Laura was genuinely surprised and touched by his enthusiasm. We continued to order more and more, ultimately having one of the most memorable dining experiences we've had. Hats off to the team at Field Green for elevating Indian cooking to new heights! It’s evident that you put a lot of love and care into all your dishes on the regular menu as well. We also appreciate the cozy atmosphere—it’s the perfect place to enjoy comfort food, and we’ve always received wonderful service. If you’re food enthusiasts like us, don’t miss this pop-up. Almost all the dishes on the menu are gluten-free, and about half of them are vegan. We’re already looking forward to trying more dishes from their Kosher Spice menu on the last day of the event—we’ve made another reservation!
The staff here are extremely attentive and helpful, and they are very accommodating to dietary needs. The setting is simple, allowing the food to truly shine. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the wine was delightful as well. This is an experience in Wellington that you definitely shouldn't miss!
To celebrate my birthday in Wellington, we visited Field Green on a Saturday. We had chef’s tasting plates at the bar table watching chefs work on our dishes. It was a particularly a quiet night for the restaurant, which gave us more time to convert with chefs who were extremely friendly and fun to spend time. We were amazed with every dishes (lambs were perfection, king fish crudo with fennel so refreshing! The chefs kindly increased portion for us which was amazing. To conclude the great night, their bottomless ice cream flavour options made us 150% full. Thank you for the wonderful night! We would love to come back for brunch menu.
