Nicolini's - Wellington

Little gem of Italian food; really authentic taste and intimate ambiance . I was lucky to get a table so highly recommend a reservation , the place was packed after 7:30 pm . Loved the wine selection by the glass too!

It was an excellent experience. Everything was just delicious. The Bruschetta was very good but maybe with a lot of garlic for those who don't like very much. We had raviolis and Puttanesca fettuccini , which were just marvellous.

Niccolini's is by far my favorite Italian restaurant in Wellington with a menu that is delicious top to bottom. Since moving from Wellington I've been searching Canada for a restaurant that can come close to the Niccolini's experience and none can hold a candle to this place. Try the Lamb Faggotini, Apple Pork or Pescatora to start, and go back for a taste of something else next time. Everything is amazing. Even the veggie dishes and gluten free options are great. I miss this restaurant more than I miss my home.

Yummy!!!! This restaurant is one of my favourite in Wellington certainly my favourite Italian! The staff here are very welcoming and friendly providing great table service. There are some fantastic items on the menu, I particularly love some of the seafood options mussel spaghetti is delicious) but don't decide until you have heard the daily specials, because there are usually some creative and tasty options on that list. I find the prices $18-24 for a main pasta dish) to be very reasonable, especially considering the quality. The wine list is also extensive, with options from around New Zealand, Australia and of course Italy. The restaurant itself has a lovely ambient feel. There are two main dining areas the front room which fronts on to Courtenay Place, and a quieter courtyard out the back. The lighting including candles in wine bottles adds to the ambience.
