Írjon visszajelzéstThe PTB is a unique and historically significant Edwardian building located on Lambton Quay. It served as a public administration office from 1909 until 1982. Established in 1872, the PTO was one of the first of its kind in the world, and the continued use of its name reflects this important historical connection, despite the PTO having withdrawn long ago. The PTB is notable for being the only building constructed from genuine New Zealand granite, sourced from northwest Nelson. It also holds the distinction of being the first steel-framed office building in New Zealand. The chief architect, John Campbell, designed what is considered the most architecturally significant facade in the capital and throughout the nation, as recognized by the Wellington Architecture Centre. After the earthquake in 2015, the PTB was primarily occupied by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage, with the exception of its spacious ground floor. In October 2019, this ground floor was designated as a venue, with a capacity to accommodate up to 300 guests.
The place is beautiful, and the staff is incredibly helpful.
