The Curry House - West Berkshire

Stayed at the Dolphin for an overnight while visiting Highclere castle. The inn is adorable, pub, dining, back yard garden. Breakfast was great, we loved the yogurt parfait and toast and jellies. The coffee machine was being temperamental so they made us lattes. Rooms were bright, in suite showers were new and toiletries were fun. We loved the towel warmer. All throughout there were little touches and very welcoming. Easy walk to train station and lots of dining options. Highly recommend!

Charlotte and the team hosted my sister's hen party in the Garden room back in May and it was perfect! Charlotte was really responsive in the run up to the day, making it easy to organise, and execution on the day itself was great. We had the privacy of the room for an event, then food for c. 30 people, which was delicious, then could keep the room for the rest of the evening for drinks. All for a very reasonable refundable deposit. Thanks Charlotte the team!

I was very disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Despite putting my car registration into the computer at the bar, I was still fined £170 for parking on their premises while having lunch. The service was incredibly slow and when I tried to resolve the issue with the parking charge, I was met with unhelpful responses. The manager initially said they couldn't cancel the charge, but later agreed to do so. However, I later received a letter saying the fine had not been paid and was now being handled by a debt collection agency. The current manager advised me to pay the fine and insinuated that I would be compensated, but now refuses to refund me. I find this treatment to be unfair and unacceptable. I will not be returning to this establishment.

I absolutely adore this pub and visit regularly. However, I was quite frustrated this past Saturday when they stopped serving at 3:00 PM due to two private parties. It felt like they were prioritizing these events over their loyal regulars. Did they really need to close the whole pub? This came across as greedy and selfish. I am very disappointed and would appreciate hearing their perspective on this situation.

We had booked out the garden room for a wedding reception. It was a fantastic space and we and our guests were super impressed with the quality of the buffet food we ordered. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a great time
