Had a great meal and prices were great. Good service and place is clean.
The best overall restaurant experience I had for a while. Since my trip to Japan I have spent a good amount of time searching for a Japanese izakaya in the Metro Detroit. You can search for a technical definition of an izakaya restaurant on Wikipedia, but for me the key is the combination of high-quality a la carte dishes, cheap drinks and an ultra casual atmosphere. To date, Kitchen Hanzo is the only place in the area that is even close; the only differences that the seat is not private and they are only open until midnight. We spent a little over two hours and enjoyed the atmosphere in the dining area and in the kitchen (after and before leaving several groups). During this time we tried their salmon Onigiri, tonpeiyaki, yakiniku salad, Oldashi Tofu, and takosu all, while knocking nama (draft) Sapparos. Everything was fantastic, but the tonpeiyaki and Alterashi tofu were the standouts. Kitchen Hanzo comes on my highest recommendation for those who were in Japan and miss izakayas, but also for anyone who is looking for a first-class, authentic Japanese culinary experience.
Very impressive food! Every record was great! I loved the wort and the freshness! All dishes were prepared before us Personal I really enjoyed the roasted chicken, pork pancakes and the tempura you serve Goya! It remembered eating my mother's good service, but there is no reservation (get early)
Very low key comfortable place for authentic food and drinks. More of a small plate space but the Udon Shrimps Tempoura was amazing
