Service is so far below standard. No focus on food. All booze and bar with no attention to seating a customer, taking an accurate food order. No check back. No return with second drink order. Etc. this only exists because of captive hotel clientele and NOTHING else open after 9. Really sad
Hotel restaurants are always a risky move...I didn't want to look for a place for dinner so while staying at the Marriott I dropped in for dinner. Small menu with not a lot of options and despite the lady at the front desk saying she can smell the stake that wasn't the case. I took the salad and grilled salmon and they were OK. The salad was too watery as didn't dry the greens. The salmon was good but the two sides that came with it were very small portions even for a side. They don't serve any bread with butter or olive oil which could have made a big difference
The River City Grill is the restaurant located inside the Marriott. Marriotts are known to have fairly good food and a nice bar atmosphere so my mom and I chose to stay in for dinner and drinks and make are selves comfortable. We started with drinks and an appetizer. I went with the Rheingest Truth IPA and my mom with the La Crema Pinot Noir. We also ordered their tomato and cheese flatbread. It was all very tasty. A few hours later we ate dinner and had some more drinks and ended up ordering the Crab Cake with Brussel Sprout Slaw, the Shrimp Tacos and the Wild Mushroom Flatbread. We both enjoyed all of the items prepared. We did send back the Mushroom Flatbread as it had been burnt and was not covered in ingredients at all. The staff was understanding with recognizing the issue and prepared a beautifully done flatbread. I think the Mushroom Flatbread was my favorite. I may even try to recreate that flatbread at home! The waitress we had was also phenomenal. She was attentive but not overly so as my mom and I were leisurely enjoying some relaxation and catch-up time. We also had our free breakfast here. It was the basic continental breakfast. They had cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, toast, bagels, scrambled eggs, french toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc on the buffet. It wasn't the best food ever but it did the trick! You can also order breakfast items a la carte if you so wish. If I came back to stay at this Marriott I wouldn't hesitate to come back and eat here. Very good staff and well prepared and delicious food.
This restaurant had a lovely ambiance, especially the bar area, which caught our attention, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was a bit let down. Given the nice hotel it's located in, I was surprised by how mediocre my meal was. The place was nearly empty, yet the service was quite slow. I ordered a burrito bowl that came with all the ingredients piled separately – the salad on top and hot corn, beans, and rice underneath. I mixed it myself, which was fine, but as I ate, I could actually identify some of the brand names of the food. Everything except the steak (which was a bit fatty but decent) tasted as though it had been microwaved and simply dumped onto the plate. I could have easily made this at home! I was expecting a delicious meal, but honestly, it wasn't worth the price. We spent $75 on two bowls and two soups, and I won't be returning or recommending this place.
