Block Barrel Deli - West Frankfort

Good doughnuts and good sandwiches. Nothing fancy tho.

I'll take you guys through my trip here: The name of the restaurant isn't posted anywhere to my knowledge. There is a large deli sign beneath a donuts sign. I used the restroom first. It clearly is getting overlooked. Broken soap dispenser, paper towels for hand drying (pet peeve of mine) despite having a folded towel dispenser. Dining room wasn't any better with dirt on the floor, marks all over the walls, and outdated furniture with patio chairs to sit in. Ordered a Italian beef sandwich with the potato salad...$10.26. The credit card machine wasn't functional, waited another 5 minutes to pay for my meal. It was brought to me in a timely manner. Potato salad was good, on the sweeter side, and I thought the sandwich was good too. I've had much better of both, but considering the location, it was a solid meal. No napkins...or condiments (but didn't need them)...on the table. Had to walk back to counter to retrieve them. Service seemed friendly. Overall, I've got a hard time looking past the facility problems. If I return it will be via drive through.

I had the Italian beef and my gf had an Italian with a side of Mac and cheese. It was all very tasty. Good cookies too.

Delish! We had the bacon club with sweet dressing, a turkey sub with mustard, soda coffee. They dont skimp on any ingredients, and its so much less processed than subway. The staff was nice, tables clean, food fast hot best of all delicious! A refreshing fast food alternative. Glad we stopped.
