Haskell Donuts - West Monroe

The only reason we went here was because it is the scene where Uncle Si ate 32 donuts to put everyone else to shame. Awesome autographs on the seats and countertop. The donut holes were average tasting. A dozen for a $1.80. I didn't like the chocolate covered ones it was just glaze with cocoa added to it, that's not really chocolate to me.

Friendly staff and very good donuts. Prices are reasonable. We didn 't appreciate the way a particular local 'regular ' customer there rudely treated us, but we understood that he was just 'marking his territory ' and no doubt stupidly felt threatened by us 'outsiders. ' (Really he needs to get a life and go squat on a counter stool somewhere else. Staff should tell the old fart to lighten up and stop trying to intimidate strangers.

You'd think that getting to a donut shop right after they open that the donuts would be hot and fresh. Nope. These are cold and obviously not made recently. The kolaches are pitifully small and not worth the price. Haskell's used to be much better. Also, I got there 10 minutes after opening and was told she needed another 10 minutes. Which would've been fine if what I got was good.

The Kolaches seem to be of store-bought and microwaved quality, the chocolate donut I got was cold as ice and the icing on it was hard as a rock. The only good thing I got was a regular glazed donut.
