Mayfair Lane Pub & Dining Room

Mayfair Lane was a new gastropub that just opened on 72 Outram St, West Perth.

The Mayfair Lane launch party was a swanky affair but, as with most fancy events, I found myself drinking bubbles and craving a hearty feed.

We were invited along to the cocktail party launch of Mayfair Lane in West Perth earlier this week.

We attended the soft opening, so things may have changed a little since then. Mayfair Lane is a lot more light and open than The Brown Fox, and is now divided into a dining area section and the bar section, with separate menus for each. Waiter Keiran was very helpful when we were making our drink selections. The food is reasonably priced overall; basically what you'd expect for a place of this type. The stuffed apple that comes with the pork is delicious. I would eat a meal of just those. My companion said good things about the lamb. We opted for the Rocky Road dessert, which is definitely overpriced for the amount you get. It was nice and well presented, but the surprise at how little was there overshadowed that. Overall it was a decent experience. I've been back to the bar section since, and the bar staff are always nice and friendly.

Really great look pub, fancy even with the bling chandeliers! Great steak! Delicious fish pie with big chunks of salmon! Would have been better with a pastry top tho!
