Írjon visszajelzéstWent back to Indie recently and once again they didn't disappoint with their beers, so flavorful. Also had their fried chicken sandwich for the first time and it may just be the best one I've ever had, they took an Asian spin on it that was so good and the chicken was cooked perfectly along with a great bun, even the ceaser salad was great, used some other type of almost wild lettuce but man did it taste great with really tasty anchovies! I wish I lived closer to Indie.
It's a great place, food quality is amazing, I visited few times now and no disappointments, staff is good. Window seat is my best, facing the road. Great beer selection.
Quickly becoming a favourite among locals in the area, is the new Indie Ale House. Located right in the heart of the Junction on Dundas Street just west of Keele, this hip spot offers outstanding food with great craft beer. This ‘not by the book’ restaurant offers killer meals like their Mac & Cheese, Bison & Belly Burger and Southern Fried Chicken. You can even order popcorn! I personally enjoy the bacon and chilli popcorn (yes it’s real bacon) served in a metal bucket with enough to share… though you might just want to keep it for yourself. They're famous however for their Royal Burger, which includes shredded short ribs, quarter pound patty, crispy onions and Gruyere cheese. It’s more than just a burger; it’s a piece of heaven. Dinner is served on a wooden board and the portions are modest. Indie also provides a great selection in craft beer, which is brewed on location and completely visible. Thanks to the large glass window located near the bar, you’re able to see right into their brewing room. The shinny large brass tanks with all the spouts and dials are something you won’t soon forget. The unique and catchy names of their beers are enough to entice the taste buds of even the most modest drinker. With names like Golden Devil, Zombie Apocalypse, and Winter Toque, how could you order just one? And if you happen to fall in love with one of their beers, or just fancy some Indie swag, they’ve got you taken care of. The small shop located inside will be more than happy to provide beer in bottles or 2L growlers. T-shirts, art pieces and other merchandise inspired by their brews and logo are also available here. This place really does have it all!
Dined at Indie Ale House on a busy Saturday night with my wife and another couple. This place was hoppin' (corny pun, I know)! Lots of hipsters and young families crowding the tables, bar, and entryway. After putting our name and phone number on the list (reservations, if they take 'em, would be recommended), we took a stroll around the Junction. The hostess called much quicker than expected, so we darted back to get our table...As a brewpub, the obvious attractions are the multitude of beers brewed on-site. I tried the Broken Hipster, a Belgian white, which was excellent. The other couple sampled a "flight" of beer, small glasses of 5 different types. They had good things to say...For food, my wife and I split the hot Italian sausage pizza and the short-rib burger. I liked the burger better than the pizza--lots of good flavor: gruyere, crispy onions, roasted garlic, and thyme aioli. The fries that accompanied were tasty. The pizza, while solid, didn't rise to the level of a Pizza Libretto or places of that caliber. Still, I would agree with Indie Ale House, their menu is better than "your average pub grub".Overall, a good, bustling location right in the Junction, with delicious beer, and solid food earns Indie 4 out of 5 stars. Worth a visit!
Indie Ale House has it down with crafting delicious beer. This is a perfect place to go if you're a beer person. There is a robust selection of brews to choose from. The wait staff is incredibly knowledgable. Food here is also excellent. It's fun to sit in the front where there is a big garage door - you can people watch as you sip beer. We're big fans of wheats and sours, the selection here is great. Check out the S'MORE STOUT collaboration brew with Karate Garage, you won't be disappointed. Also, on your way out, take some beer home with you. They have a shop with bottles and growlers to go.
