Easy to find and in a charming old building. Pretty good value at £13 each for Haddock and chips, especially considering how close to seafront we were and that we saw 3 other sea front shops that weren’t open presumably out of season. Portions were good size, haddock was lovely with great crisp batter and chips were decent, not all fatty and soft. Having been all over the country and had inland and seafront fish n chips at plenty of places this was a pretty good price, a decent dinner and a good experience!
King Edward's......this used to be a great fish and chip shop..Ordered a portion of chips...£3.65....frozen rubbish! Should not be able to call this place...King Edward's..as there is not a king Edward potatoe in sight!.... RUBBISH....will not be going back!
Highlight of the fish and chips on the beach in the evening sun. The quality of the food is good and comes in decent portions with a box to eat from. Several reviews have mentioned the price clearly displayed) and sadly it's the going rate, in most places we visit, let alone premises paying on the front rates for a large building.
I went to the Weymouth Bike Night from Sherborne on my bike with my son on his bike. Popped into this chippy as it smelt nice and it was dinner time. So in we went and I ordered fish and chips twice please. Then came the shocker That 'll be £23.90 please ' To which I replied, Cancel the order, I 'm not paying that much for two lots of fish and chips. Someone in the queue looked at me and said It 's a sign of the times. To which I replied, It might be a sign of the times but these are more expensive than London prices. Absolute robbery!!! I can get fish and chips twice and of much better quality for just over half that about 20 miles away in Sherborne at The Abbey Friar. So my advice is, if you 're in Weymouth and want Fish and Chips, drive to Sherborne and get them and you will still save money and not feel like you 've been mugged!!!
The location was very convenient but very expensive for just fish and chips lovely view but only every so often
