Rex - Weymouth and Portland

Very nice , clean , smart building , tried the Turbot for main , with saute potatoes veg , as i told the chef , probably the blandest meal i had all weekend , what a let down .

Unfortunately the Rex restaurant is only open at the moment to residents of the Hotel due to Covid, but as a resident I cannot say enough about the staff and food. They were brilliant, always pleasant and attentive, nothing to much trouble and the food was superb. Will definitely eat there again

We found the food a very good standard, the decor is very typical of an old sea side hotel but the food was worth the money.

My wife ordered a garlic and chilli king prawn starter that was disappointing as the sauce overpowered the dish and it was served on a fruit bread-like base. The main courses were an improvement, with my sea bass being tasty but the vegetables were bland and lacking creativity.

On a chilly and wet evening, we visited this restaurant and began with a drink in the cozy bar with a beautiful view of the bay. We then descended to the restaurant for a birthday celebration, where they had specially set up a table for us which was lovely.
